Women’s Fencing Goes 3-2 at Johns Hopkins Invitational

The NJIT women’s fencing team went 3-2 at the Johns Hopkins Invitational Sunday with victories over Army, Yeshiva and University of Virginia.

The Highlanders were victorious against Army (15-12), Yeshiva (25-2) and Virginia (16-11) while falling to Johns Hopkins (21-6) and Navy (14-13).

Julia Aronov, the Highlanders women’s captain competing on the epee strip, finished with a perfect record at 15-0 at the Invitational.

NJIT’s Michelle Potestio and Hannah Huan competed on the foil strip, with Potestio finishing with a 10-5 mark and Huan at 11-4.  Potestio went (3-0) against Army and Yeshiva while earning (2-1) victories against Virginia and Navy.  Huan picked up three (3-0) victories against Army, Yeshiva and Navy while adding a (2-1) record against Virginia.
