Julia Aronov, Fencing

Junior

Height: 5’1″

Hometown: Forest Hills, NY

Aronov has been selected as NJIT Female Athlete of the Week for her performance during the NJIT Invitational on Sunday at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The junior was the top performer for NJIT with an impressive 12-1 overall mark for the epee squad. She recorded 3-0 records against Rutgers and Army, 2-0 mark against Queens and Lafayette and notched a 2-1 record against FDU.

2012-13: 33-15 record (69%) on the epee strip.

David Kong, Fencing

Freshman, Digital Design

Height: 6’1″

Hometown: Rutherford, NJ

Kong has been selected as NJIT Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the NJIT Invitational on Sunday at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The freshman was the top performer finishing the Invitational with an 11-1 overall mark on the foil and epee strip. Kong went 5-1 at foil and a perfect 6-0 at epee. He recorded a 2-1 mark against Rutgers and 3-0 against Cornell on the foil strip while recording a 3-0 mark against Drew and Lafayette in epee competition.

Overall, the NJIT men’s fencing team went 2-2 on the day picking up wins against Drew (17-10) and Rutgers (16-11).
