Greek Life Supports the Fight Against Breast Cancer

The Greek community of NJIT participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, as they do every year. It was a brisk Sunday morning as everyone met up in front of Eberhardt Hall. All the fraternities and sororities of NJIT were present for the group photo in a massive show of support.

There were bagels and bottled water to be enjoyed. Around 8:45am they began their trek down Bleeker St. and headed towards Military Park in Newark. Upon arrival at the destination, there was pink galore: Balloons, tents, and especially clothes. As everyone signed in, there was anticipation to get the walk started. The walk was down through and back from Broad St. Military Park, and Lincoln Park. Pink hordes of people covered the streets as everyone showed their support and walked to raise money.

The previous Wednesday, there had been a dinner in the campus center ballroom to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. All the Greek organizations were in attendance because it is a yearly mandatory event. The total raised from both the dinner and the walk was over $1800 from NJIT alone. No doubt everyone cannot wait until next year’s breast cancer walk to hopefully raise even more money.
