    Robots Take the School

The Robotics Club came out in full force on Wednesday to show off their bots around campus. NJIT students and faculty who were outside on the green (and there were a lot of them, because of the Hispanic heritage month kickoff), could see robots parading through the green and around the campus center.

Robot awareness day is a semi-annual event hosted by the robotics club. The event is held to draw attention to the club, and it has always been a popular event with the students. This iteration took the form of a parade around the campus green due to the nice weather, but on colder occasions the event has also taken place as a march through the campus center and its floors.

The event attracted many people; several were drawn in by the small robots moving around the green. The club had a new, slithering robot that could shoot darts at people. The club’s other roving bots were available to be seen as well. Students could approach and take control of the robots while the club informed them of their upcoming events and about joining the club.

While the event was somewhat crowded out due to the loudness of the Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff happening right across the green, students that participated enjoyed quality time with the members of the robotics club and their amazing creations.
