    Senate Meeting Minutes – 18 February 2015

    There was a moment of silence for the recently deceased student Albert Roman. Counseling is available for any student that needs it.

    The president, Alpha, talked about a meeting he had with Charlie Fey about student involvement.

    The new Parking Deck, which will be built on Lot 10, has an estimated budget of $101 million dollars and is planned to be completed in August 2016.

    The Event Center’s budget is estimated to be around $120 million, York Center’s proposed Life Science’s Research Facility extension is estimated at $19 million, and Central King Building’s renovations are estimated at $55 million.

    The student retention rate is falling and Senate is looking into how to improve the retention rate to keep students and help them graduate on time.

    WJTB is technically inactive and the voting on their status to be reinstated will be held next week.

    3 people were elected into vacant senate positions. Darshan Patel left his position of Biology Representative and became the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts Representative.

    African Students Association was approved for over $500 to hold a fashion show event.

    Alisha the resident representative resigned.

    March 2 begins the week of fitness.

    If anyone is interested in becoming the new mascot, contact Raj. There is a height requirement. Students interested must be 5’8 to 5’9.
