Spring Career Fair 2016 Recap

Spring+Career+Fair+2016+Recap

Current NJIT students, alumni, and non-NJIT students were invited to attend Career Development Services’ (CDS) semiannual career fair. The first fair of 2016 took place on February 24 at the Estelle and Zoon Fleisher Athletic Center and the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. Well known companies such as AT&T, CBS Local Digital Media, Cisco Systems, Colgate-Palmolive, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Johnson & Johnson, Prudential, and Toys R Us sought current and graduated students for a variety of internships, co-ops and full time positions. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were also present at NJIT’s career fair, seeking students for full time job positions. Openings at the career fair are available for a wide variety of majors, including students studying architecture, biology, computer science, information technology, and any of the engineering disciplines.

Leading up to the career fair, CDS held various events around campus which allowed students to prepare for the fair, as well as any other future pursuits in professional development. These events included Resumania, where representatives of companies of various industries reviewed student resumes, and workshops which helped students learn how to properly present themselves when meeting a representative of a company, or a prospective employer at an interview. CDS also holds workshops that teach students how to apply for jobs online using their career finder, which also allows students to apply for on campus interviews with major companies.

For more information on how to prepare for internship or job interviews, or even how to find and apply to openings, visit www.njit.edu/cds, or visit CDS, which is located on the fifth floor of Campbell Hall, across from CCAPS.
