No
“No.”
A two letter word that holds such power and strength that it can break through the hardest of walls. It is a word that many people either abuse or overuse—a word that crushes the hearts of those in love. It prevents many from achieving their goals or dreams and keeps souls from realizing their full potential. It crashes home like a meteor destroying a blissful abode.
But, at the same time, it is a pedestal for a person to stand up, move forward and fly high—it is the empowering word that crashes you to the bottom; pushes you to the deepest depth of an ocean, to the softest sand with darkness all around. It can’t get lower than this, right? Then why do you think that you can’t learn and grow from this rejection? From the depression that lurks in the dark depths of this deep sea. What have you to lose?
This rejection has helped you to see that the worst indeed sucks. The bottom can’t be lower and the pressure is immense. NO. You can do something, swim upwards! The darkness is scary. NO. There is a light above you in that darkness. If you swim towards it, waves will hurl you. NO. These won’t last forever if you keep pushing forward. You have already felt the pain and struggled through the dismays of the world. You were at the bottom already, it was worse than anything else that’s being thrown at you now.
When you finally reach the top and get that first breath of air, you’ll realize that it was worth the push. You’ll appreciate and understand the effort that goes into being alive and living the life you want. Your eyes will see the world in new light. It’s full of adventures. It’s full of possibilities. You really can do anything that you set your mind to.
Do not give up on your life if you have reached that bottom. Everyone who has succeeded in life has already been there. They were surrounded by darkness, felt hopeless and came close to giving up on their goal. They may even have thought worse, giving up on everything.
I have been in those depths. Trust me, you must not let the worst get to you. You can handle these things because you are human. Your heart bleeds, but those scars do not make you strong. Your heart holds the words, “You are still alive”. You are still alive here in the world. You can set your mind to things and achieve them. You know what to expect from the worst. You know what your professors expect from you. You know what you can improve in your life. You know your full potential.
If you have just one minute left to live, you can still make it last. Leave one note or one word for your memory to the world. Regardless, you are still alive.
YOU. ARE. STILL. ALIVE.
Act like it.
