Students in the second half of their college education are starting to understand the importance of finding experience in their field before graduation. They begin to look for internships and Co-Ops and start applying willy-nilly to just about any place that has an opening. A few weeks later, they get an email saying something along the lines of “We would like to talk to you about your interest in the vacant position you applied for in our company.”
This is the point where things start to get real. Once students have an interview lined up, it is really important to know everything about the company and get some information about what they have to offer. An app that makes that information really easy to find is Glassdoor. Glassdoor also has a website version, but the app allows students to see a lot more information than the website. Using the app, students have access to reviews of the company, so they can decide whether they want to work in an environment like that or not.
Students also have access to salary information, to show them how much they would be compensated if they were to stay at that company for some time. The best feature of the app though is the Interviews tab. The interview tab gives students a sneak peek at what the company may ask them during an interview. This allows students to prepare ahead of time and come up with more concise responses that better reflect their opinion. The questions on the app are not guaranteed to be the questions that students receive, however these questions help students construct a platform by which they can stand during their interview. It gives them a solid idea of what they want to say to the recruiter and makes for a great way to prepare. This app could be exactly what students need to get a job in the industry of their choosing, at a company that they will love.
