If I had to describe my year, I could do it in one word: hectic.

When I became managing editor, I was thrust into a leadership position. All of a sudden, I was responsible for something important—it was the first time I ever had to assume such responsibility. My entire world was rocked, to say the least, and I was a little overwhelmed by it all.

However, because of this experience, I was able to meet and get to know so many wonderful people. This doesn’t just include people in the Vector, I got to know people from almost all of the organizations at NJIT. One day, I would be speaking to a class about recruitment into our writing staff. The next day I could be assisting NJIT’s HighlanderThon team with public relations. The next, I might be attending a wonderful ceremony for recipients of a challenge coin from public safety.

In addition, I met and formed bonds with all of them and met my wonderful fraternity. I went through the pledge process this semester, and quite frankly, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Never before had I met a group of men with such strong moral character and persistence, and I can say that I am proud to be a member of the fraternity of the assisting hand.

Truly, this year was hectic. I don’t think I have been busier than this, ever. There have been times when I lay in bed, dreading the inevitable trip to campus. Yes, I have been depressed, stressed, and woefully underdressed.

But thankfully, I was never alone.

I had the rest of my editorial board. I had the Vectoids. I had my fraternity. I had people from other organizations support me.

I had, and continue to have, all of them.

To all of them: Thank you. I could not have done it without you!

I hope to have you all again next year, and I am proud to be serving as the executive editor of the Vector.
